San Diego provides one of the nicest climates in the world evidenced by the amount of visitors it receives each year. With its great all season climate conditions it is a year round destination for vacationers. Besides the great weather, San Diego boasts some top notch attractions as well. There are a lot of things you can do from going to one of its many beaches to visiting its world famous San Diego Zoo. Below are some of the top attractions in San Diego that continue to attract visitors each year.

Sea World: Sea World which offers great fun for the whole family with its many exhibits and aquatic shows is located near the beaches in beautiful Mission Bay just north of downtown San Diego. You can spend all day going to all the attractions within the park and not get tired. You can get face to face with some of the sea life and be entertained by killer whales dolphins and Seals. You can eat at one of many places in the park and go for one of their wild rides and enjoy the climate while you spend time in such an exciting environment. There are many hotels located just inland along the freeway 8 just minutes away.

San Diego Zoo: The San Diego Zoo is world famous and is a must see if you are planning a trip to San Diego. The Zoo is located within beautiful Balboa Park which is fairly close to downtown San Diego. There are many amenities for your enjoyment throughout the Zoo. You can either walk or take the bus to get around within the zoo. There are many exciting exhibits including the Giant Panda Research Station and the special children zoo. Other exhibits include the popular Polar Bear Plunge, Elephant Mesa and Sea Lion Show. The zoo is located close to large valleys that feature a variety of tropical plants as well.

Wild Animal Park: The Wild Animal Park is located about 30-40 minutes north of downtown San Diego in Escondido. You can definitely spend the entire day enjoying the many features of the park so be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. While there you can take the railway and observe wild animals living in their natural habitat. The park contains many shops, restaurants and animal exhibits for you to enjoy as well. In the middle of the park is Nairobi Village where you can rest and have refreshments. It is a great place for kids with a large play area, baby nursery and Petting Kraal. Enjoy the exotic birds in the African Aviary and have fun feeding them at Lorikeet Landing. You can see Lions, giraffes, Hippos, elephants and many other animals living in large spacious areas that resemble their own natural habitat. Lego Land: A great place for families and kids of all ages is LEGOLANDÂ(R) California which is located about 30 miles north of San Diego in Carlsbad. The theme park offers many attractions and rides and is very entertaining visually. The park is divided into many fun areas including the Beginning, Dino Island, Explore Village, Miniland USA, Funtown, Knight's Village, and Imagination Zone.The park also has many restaurants and shops for your convenience and enjoyment.

Dinning Out: If a quiet night out for dinner and shopping is what you prefer then Old Town is a perfect place to go. It is located just minutes from downtown and offers an historical look into the beginnings of San Diego. There are many great restaurants to choose from as well as historical sites and unique shops. If you prefer more of a night out on the town then you will want to visit the famous Gaslamp district located in downtown San Diego. It is home to many fine restaurants, clubs and night spots. It is a very lively atmosphere especially on weekends. There is also a great spot to go out in Pacific Beach which is just north of downtown. Garnet Ave. and the immediate area surrounding it is home to many popular night spots and eating places as well.

Beaches: There are many beaches in San Diego to enjoy as well. Perhaps the most popular being Mission beach located by Pacific Beach. It is home to a small amusement park located on the boardwalk right next to the beautiful Pacific Ocean. You can do many things there including riding bikes along the coast, surfing or just spending time playing on the beach and enjoying the ocean. Other popular places are La Jolla which is just north of Pacific Beach and Coronado which is just south of downtown San Diego. The beaches offer an inedible place to enjoy the beautiful sun setting over the ocean.

San Diego is also home to the professional baseball team the Padres who play in the gorgeous Petco Park located in downtown and the Chargers who play at QUALCOMM stadium in mission valley just minutes from downtown. There are of course many more things to do in San Diego and its surrounding communities as well. The ones discussed here are perhaps the most well known and most frequented. There are plenty of great shops, restaurants and golf courses throughout the entire county as well.
